Home

Well I got home yesterday afternoon.. It was hard to leave Idaho, but I missed Kyle so much! It was wonderful to see him. He picked me up in the middle of his work day, so I had to travel around San Diego with him, but I loved it. It was nice to just be sitting next to him.

I also missed our church family! We went to youth group last night. What a blast! Our church has been a blessing beyond words! It was fun to see my small group girls and talk with the other staffers.

I will post some pictures from my trip soon. I wish I had taken more (isn't that what I always say?) I am now starting the countdown until my mom and little sister come to visit in about a month!

Idaho Update/ Abigail guest blogger (age 9)

I have enjoyed my time in Idaho immensely! I could stay for another month if Kyle was here with me. I made a little "bucket list" of things I wanted to do while I was home; I think I've accomplished everything on it.

Right now I am in an apron with my little sister next to me (eagerly waiting to guest blog). We have spent the morning making homemade strawberry jam and jumping on the trampoline... doesn't get much better than that!

Without further ado... here is Abigail

Hello everyone we are re-modeling our play room so all the toys are out; and we are also going through old pictures, and when you add that we spent part of the morning making strawberry jam you get a messy home.But that is okay because we can always clean it up.I am so glad that Bekki has come to visit us here
in Idaho, we have just been hanging out and having family time. My friend Sam who lives across the street has been over a few times and has helped us with Elijah and Vanessa and Amelia my two nieces and nephew.Witch brings me back to what have we done all week.So on Thursday Bekki came and we ate a
family dinner and on Friday day we went over to Jessicas house and Bekki spent some time with Grandma.

 On Friday night we hung out and Becky went to a movie with some friends. Saturday was the day we had a lot of family time and on Sunday we had church and after we went to get frozen yogurt and then my sister Jessica came over for a sister movie night.On Monday we had family time and my friend Sam came over to play and help with the kids.Who knows what we will do for the rest of Bekkis vacation but I am sure we will have fun. Thank you all for reading this. Have a nice day and a great summer. Goodbye.

(As you can tell, lots of family time.. which has been WONDERFUL!)

Summer Camp/ Idaho Prep

In 2 days we leave for Summer Camp! We will be there for 5 days and then I'm off to Idaho the day we get back from camp. It's a busy 2 weeks and I couldn't be more excited.

I LOVED summer camp when I was younger. I grew up in Montana and so our summer camp was at Clydhurst Christian Ranch. I have great memories of this place.

I am trying to stay focused on the task at hand because as great as camp is going to be I can't help but get anxious about going to Idaho to see my family!

The next 2 days will find me packing, working and getting last minute supplies for camp.

recent memories and adventures

We have been super busy lately. I've done my best to take pictures of everything; and had the intention of actually making a post for each event. That is just not going to happen. So.... here are a collection of little memories and adventures.

I tried to take some pictures of the Solar Eclipse... not exactly the best pictures.. but it was awesome to watch.

 I met my friend Mary Anne (that's not how she spells it, but I love to spell it that way because it reminds me of Gilligan's Island) for breakfast at her favorite little spot. It was a really encouraging time.

A good friend adopted the sweetest little baby boy and we got to throw him a shower! Megan and I got there early decorated/baked and enjoyed lunch with Lara. We were very happy with our Nautical masterpiece.. (Megan was more the decorator, I the baker.. although we helped each other with both)

I made each of the little sails and flags that went into the cupcakes... working at an elementary school is rubbing off on me.

Two of the Miller boys holding Taylor. Kyle and I have been SOOO blessed by this family. (Pryce, the darker haired boy, and I are in a "the 3rd child is the coolest" club)

So thankful for this man's wisdom, his wife was right next to him, I should have taken a picture of her!

We had some company for the weekend. (Sorry this first picture is blurry) From left to right.. Kyle, my handsome husband, Tommy D. , John Glass, Serj K.

We stopped at Petersons and then headed for a night in San Diego.

Of course they had to play at the jungle gym. It was actually a ton of fun

Yesterday we went to the beach with some friends. It was such a good day. Beautiful beach, perfect weather and great people.

I kinda caught them off guard, but this is the only picture I had of the mom's. Kari is watching her children and Lara posed quickly before running after her daughter.

Such a sweetie! He LOVED the water, we could barely get him out of it.

Kelsey and I had such a good time. She has no fear and let me play with her in the water.

I think you can tell katie is just a little happy :)

We body surfed for hours.. Sadly I lost our little competition. Kyle caught two more waves than me.

If her clothes didn't give it away, we played hard!

Well there's a snapshot of our last couple weeks...

And Can it Be?

One of my favorite songs is "And Can it Be" by Charles Wesley. I can't seem to get enough of it lately; so I decided to share the lyrics and a link to one of my favorite versions of it. Hopefully it's encouraging to you as well.

And can it be that I should gain
An interest in the Savior’s blood?
Died He for me, who caused His pain—
For me, who Him to death pursued?
Amazing love! How can it be,
That Thou, my God, shouldst die for me?
Amazing love! How can it be,
That Thou, my God, shouldst die for me?

He left His Father’s throne above
So free, so infinite His grace—
Emptied Himself of all but love,
And bled for Adam’s helpless race:
’Tis mercy all, immense and free,
For O my God, it found out me!
’Tis mercy all, immense and free,
For O my God, it found out me!

Long my imprisoned spirit lay,
Fast bound in sin and nature’s night;
Thine eye diffused a quickening ray—
I woke, the dungeon flamed with light;
My chains fell off, my heart was free,
I rose, went forth, and followed Thee.
My chains fell off, my heart was free,
I rose, went forth, and followed Thee.

Still the small inward voice I hear,
That whispers all my sins forgiven;
Still the atoning blood is near,
That quenched the wrath of hostile Heaven.
I feel the life His wounds impart;
I feel the Savior in my heart.
I feel the life His wounds impart;
I feel the Savior in my heart.

No condemnation now I dread;
Jesus, and all in Him, is mine;
Alive in Him, my living Head,
And clothed in righteousness divine,
Bold I approach th’eternal throne,
And claim the crown, through Christ my own.
Bold I approach th’eternal throne,
And claim the crown, through Christ my own.
