an unexpected morning off

Things have been pretty busy at work with school starting. My co-worker and I have felt a bit buried in paperwork

With this in mind she asked if I would be willing to give her a couple of my hours today. I eagerly agreed since MY MOM IS COMING TO TOWN! I got to work this morning and realized there are no kids at school today! It has been a quiet peaceful morning. I have been catching up on little jobs that have been over looked and I was even able to listen to the RNC.

I feel all caught up with the going on's in the world.

Work never seemed so nice as sitting at my desk, sipping hot chocolate, listening to music and painting... yes, painting. I love working at an elementary school.

p.s. I really am getting pictures from the carnival event and our new place! :)

Still Here...

I've been away from blogging so long I'm not quite sure where to start.

We've been crazy busy around here. I'm working full time at the school now. Today was the first day. It was so great to see the kids! After working alone a lot of the Summer it's nice to have people around again.

I also headed up a date night for all the married couples at our church. It taught me a LOT! I hope it was as much of a blessing to the couples as it was to me. It's humbling being "in charge" of people as you serve. It was great working along side other people in the church and seeing their heart of service! I really couldn't have done it without so much help.

We also moved. We are LOVING our new place. There's still a bit of work to do. Kyle and I are constantly working on projects... which we love!

My mom is coming into town this weekend and that pretty much catches you up.. I'll post pictures when I can.

The Bike

Kyle really gets into projects. They become his little baby for awhile. Okay, by little baby I should really say he falls in love with his projects.

Last night I thought he was going to come to bed with me. When he didn't I went back out to the living room to see what was taking so long.

There was Kyle, leaving against the door jam, with his bike helmet on, staring lovingly at his bike.

Yes, he was wearing his bike helmet inside. Why? because it's new and goes along with the bike he loves.

The funny part is that I wasn't even slightly surprised.

I have a feeling I'm going to be really into bike riding soon........
